ZONING PANEL MEETS: The Zoning Review Committee meets at noon Friday at the Gulf Coast Bank & Trust, 848 Harrison Ave. The meetings, held the first Friday of every month, are open to the public and discuss a variety of issues regarding the development of Lakeview. Residents’ participation is encouraged.
SUNRISE SERVICE: Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries will hold its 25th annual Easter sunrise service in Metairie Cemetery at 7 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. James Richard Randels of Lakeview Baptist Church will deliver the Easter message. The world-famous New Orleans gospel group, The Zion Harmonizers, will perform.
Refreshments will be served after the service, which will take place next to the lagoon near the fountain gate of the cemetery. In case of inclement weather, the service will move inside the funeral home chapel.

Bird watching in City Park: Mark Meunier leads a bird-watching expedition Saturday at 8 a.m. in Couturie Forest. Appropriate walking attire and binoculars are needed. Meet at the Couturie Forest Nature Trail and Arboretum trailhead on Harrison Avenue in City Park. Meunier holds a B.A. in biology from UNO and has been a dedicated New Orleans Botanical Garden staff member for 13 years. He is a certified master naturalist of Greater New Orleans. $10.
