NEW ORLEANS — The Cancer Crusaders held their first meeting of the new year recently at the home of Lisa Baynham, president-elect for 2014.
The guest speaker was Dr. Prescott Deininger, of Tulane Cancer Center.
Deininger talked about Tulane Cancer Center researchers moving into the Louisiana Cancer Research Center in New Orleans.
Tulane Cancer Center relocated a number of its cancer investigators, their laboratory teams and its administrative unit to the new Louisiana Cancer Research Center.
The new Louisiana Cancer Research Center is at 1700 Tulane Ave., at South Claiborne Avenue in downtown New Orleans.
The building has 172,000 square feet of space on 10 floors, where researchers have access to state-of-the-art equipment and resources.
The building features advanced information technology systems, and a large conference facility on the first floor seats 250 and can be used for seminars, meetings and events.
Treasurer Julie Beltz announced that the Crusaders met its fundraising goal of $200,000 in 2012.
