Andrea Thomas-Reynolds has been named interim CEO of Miller-McCoy Academy, a school for boys in eastern New Orleans, which recently received a three-year charter renewal from BESE.
She will lead the organization through the end of the current school year. The school’s board will conduct a search for a permanent school leader that will conclude in the spring of 2013.
Thomas-Reynolds is a 20-year veteran in the non-profit management industry with a background in community economic development, K–12 education and higher education. For three years, Thomas-Reynolds was the chief executive officer of the Algiers Charter Schools Association. During her tenure, ACSA improved academically, improved operational systems and successfully renewed 88 percent of the charters in the network.
Thomas-Reynolds is the founder of Pinnacle Learning Systems, LLC, a consulting firm that provides advisory services and governance support services to charter school groups.
