The two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat will visit New Orleans Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 23, as part of the Pelicans’ eight-game preseason schedule announced Monday.
The Heat will make one visit to the Arena during the regular season, on March 22.
The preseason game against Miami, which will tip off at 7 p.m., will be the Pelicans’ lone game at New Orleans Arena, although they technically have two home games.
The other one is at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi against the Atlanta Hawks. The Saints will be playing at 3:30 p.m. at New England that day.
The preseason schedule tips off against the Rockets at Houston at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, and the Pelicans will play at the Dallas Mavericks two night later.
New Orleans next will play Orlando, one of two exhibition games against the Magic, on Oct. 9 at Jacksonville, Fla. That will be the first of four consecutive games in cities that don’t have NBA teams.
The game in Biloxi is next, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder in Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 17.
The Pelicans then will play on Oct. 19 against the Washington Wizards at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., in which New Orleans’ Anthony Davis and Darius Miller and Washington’s John Wall will be returning to their college arena.
The Pelicans then will return home for the Heat game and close out the preseason schedule at Orlando on Oct. 25.
Tickets are on sale for the Heat game on Pelicans.com. Tickets for the game in Biloxi against Atlanta or not yet on sale.
