The states with no income tax lead the nation in just about every good economic category. It sure seemed like a wise economic policy to me and all my friends.
Louisiana, with its temperate climate and wonderful food, would be a magnet for retirees.
Doing away with the income tax may have been good for the governor’s résumé, but it definitely would have been great for the state economically in the long haul, as the actual results show.
