Pedestrian shot in eastern New Orleans
New Orleans — Police are looking for an unknown assailant who shot a man walking through an eastern New Orleans neighborhood late Thursday night.
The 21-year-old victim reported the shooting around 10:28 p.m. in the 5100 block of Bundy Road, which has seen several shootings in the past. According to a police report, the victim was walking when someone shot him in the hand, face and shoulder. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Woman, 50, booked
in stabbing after flap
New Orleans — A 50-year-old New Orleans woman was booked with aggravated battery Friday morning after authorities say she stabbed a man in the shoulder.
Lisa Kelly was arrested by police in the 2100 block of Euterpe Street around 2:20 a.m., according to a police report.
Kelly is accused of stabbing a 57-year-old man with a steak knife after they argued. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Traffic stop leads
to marijuana bust
Braithwaite — A set of brass knuckles discovered during a traffic stop on the east bank of Plaquemines Parish led sheriff’s deputies to two pounds of marijuana, according to police report.
The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Shane Barrios, 42; Denny Guerra Jr., 42; and Brad Assevedo, 28, after a traffic stop on La. 39 on Tuesday, according to a news release. Deputies found two pounds of marijuana inside a toolbox in the truck the men were riding in. They searched the vehicle after spotting brass knuckles in the glove compartment. All three men denied ownership of the marijuana.
Suspects identified in Metairie robberies
Metairie — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for two men they say are connected to three armed robberies Thursday morning in Metairie.
David Lewis, 21, of Metairie, and Stanford Randolph, 19, of New Orleans, are suspected of robbing two pedestrians and a gas station.
The incidents were reported on Veterans Boulevard and Riverside Drive in the early morning hours of Thursday, said Glen Boyd, a sheriff’s spokesman. The two men were last seen in a white minivan.
