A 51-year-old New Orleans man was fatally shot Sunday afternoon while repairing a vehicle in his driveway, New Orleans police said.
The shooting occurred about 4 p.m. in the 4700 block of Werner Drive, Officer Frank B. Robertson III said in a news release.
Family members heard the shots and found the man, whose identity was not released, lying underneath a raised vehicle, shot multiple times, Robertson said.
He died at the scene, Robertson said.
Witnesses told police they saw a man running to a silver or gray Chevrolet Trailblazer parked nearby, Robertson said.
