NOPD: 24 year old dies in shooting

New Orleans police investigated the shooting death Sunday of a Central City man whose body was found in the middle of the 2500 block of South Galvez Street with multiple gunshot wounds, a police spokesman said.

The 24-year-old victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family members, was found at about 8:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, police spokesman Hilal Williams said in a news release.

The shooting remains under investigation, Williams said.
