OMV to allow ‘veteran’ on IDs

Most branches of the state Office of Motor Vehicles will be open Nov. 3 to allow military veterans to get a special designation on their driver’s licenses or identification cards, officials said Thursday.

Under a law enacted earlier this year, veterans can take the needed documents to the OMV — they do not have to wait until Nov. 3 — and get the word “veteran” added to their driver’s license under their photo.

Those records are then stored in state files, which means that veterans will not have to carry documents to prove they served in the military and received an honorable discharge.

State Police Superintendent Col. Mike Edmonson said the state hopes to open 60 of 82 motor vehicle offices Nov. 3.

Actually, your heroes in the military didn't die to protect our rights at all. What they DID die for was to execute the agenda of the Amerikan Empire around the globe. For a fool, you merely need to consult your nearest mirror.

@mem: It is said that is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. You may want to take that to heart. You are free to post your psychobabble only because the very people you disrespect doubt and died to protect your right to say whatever you like....even if it makes you look foolish.

You assume everyone has no moral compass and will gladly, blindly, unquestioningly follow orders to kill innocent men, women and children who's only crime is they just happen to live in an area YOUR "leader" has deeded to be an enemy of the state. Only THOSE people who WILL do anything for a paycheck will be extended certain perks.

You could have served in the military and earned those privileges, they are not granted as a matter of birth. We are equal under the law and have the same access to many privileges but most of us do not make the effort to earn them,

No, we are NOT all equal under the law. Anyone who has assisted the Amerikan Empire by serving as cannon fodder in their quest to rule the world are given preference in job hiring and other perks. To not extend equal treatment to those who have moral objections to killing innocent foreigners is wrong.

In general, we are all equal under the law, I realize that is a little hazy and there are limited exceptions. Every person, in general, has an equal opportunity to earn the status of "veteran" and those that make that effort and sacrifice should be awarded whatever additional privileges that they are awarded. There are many other ways to earn other special status indicators, doctor, lawyer, engineer, and so on are titles that are owned and not conferred by birth.

And all this time I thought all men were created equal. Not in Amerika. Anyone having been paid to do the government's bidding to rule the world is given special status.
