Advocate seeing high call volume

Response to The Advocate’s expansion into the New Orleans area has been overwhelming.

So many New Orleans area people called to subscribe that they initially overwhelmed The Advocate circulation department’s phone system.

The Advocate has contracted with a call center to help process incoming circulation calls, but the volume remains high.

As a result, some callers — both current customers as well as potential New Orleans subscribers — are experiencing long wait times.

The Advocate is trying to speed up handling of all calls to its customer service and apologizes for any inconvenience to new or existing subscribers.

The high call volume is partly because there have not yet been sufficient dealers to cover the large number of home delivery subscriptions. The promise is "delivery by 6:30" but I haven't yet seen my paper---it came at 3:00 on Monday, 2:00 on Tuesday........ At least I've enjoyed reading real news that I can touch. I am still rereading yesterday's paper. But you've got a long way to go to satisfy my need for substance. Take your cue from the Washington Post and give us real news! Thank you!
