Sep 11, 2013 09:24 Komen foundation to benefit from 5k run Komen foundation to benefit from 5k run Advocate staff report Sept. 11, 2013 Comments Muddy Mayhem, a 5k obstacle run to benefit the Susan G. Komen research foundation, will be Saturday at 33082 La. 1019, Denham Springs. Participants will run through fields, across shallow ponds, through a cypress swamp, along sandy beaches and up the slippery hills. A slide will take them into a catch pond. Participants will receive medals, trophies and pictures. During the event, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard will host his barbecue cook-off to raise money for the Sheriff’s Office scholarship program. Winners will be selected in six categories. An arm-wrestling event will also be held. Participation is open for men and women, both right- and left-handed weight classes.
