Livingston Youth and Family Counseling will hold a fundraiser, featuring a raffle and car show, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Tony Dugas North Park Recreation Center in Denham Springs.
LYFC helps adults and children struggling with emotional and mental health issues.
That evening, LYFC will host an Evening in the Park, a social event with food, music and dancing. There also will be a silent auction featuring items from local and national vendors, including theme parks, jewelers, restaurants, and artisans.
“We would love to see the community come out and support a great cause while swaying to the sounds of the 15-member band Big River Express. It’s going to be an exciting night that makes a big difference to this small nonprofit,” LYFC President Arthur Genre said.
Evening in the Park will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 and tables of eight can be reserved for $400.
LYFC is more than 30 years old and has served thousands of families since it was founded by a group of concerned residents, Genre said.
Proceeds will help LYFC give hope and support to residents of Livingston Parish who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and other mental health issues.
One $20 raffle ticket buys a chance to win one of two pairs of LSU 2013 football season tickets, a 50” TV, or an iPad Mini.
