The Arts Council of Livingston Parish will host a “Flower Garland Vintage Junkie Workshop” designed by artist Shelly Frederic. FREE CYCLE: 10 a.m. to noon, Albany-Springfield Library Branch. Patrons can honor Earth Day by going to the library’s “Free Cycle” event, which will have gently-used items for free. Some items include home decor, cookware and toys.

SPRING FESTIVAL: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Denham Springs Antique District, Range Avenue between Centerville Street and Florida Boulevard, Denham Springs. The festival will have more than 150 booths featuring local and regional vendors showcasing crafts, antiques and art. SONGWRITERS CIRCLE: 2 p.m., Watson Library Branch. Patrons can bring instruments and play songs while the Songwriters Circle group gives them tips and critiques. Songwriting is strongly encouraged, but patrons can participate by playing nonoriginal songs.

MACABRE MADNESS: 6 p.m., Livingston Library Branch. In celebration of National Poetry Month, teens will get to express their scary side and learn some things about Edgar Allen Poe. Teens can play with face paint, make a monster or zombie from felt, read creepy poems and stories and make up their own poetry.

ELEMENTARY ART CLASS: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., South Live Oak Elementary School, Room 602, 8400 Cecil Drive, Denham Springs. Students, grades 2 through 6, will focus on the elements of art and the principles of design. Students should bring regular No. 2 pencils and a drawing pad. REGISTRATION FOR ‘IMPROVING CARE FOR VETERANS’ SEMINAR: Our Lady of the Lake Livingston, 5000 Odonavan Blvd., Walker. Legacy Hospice of Walker will hold a seminar on “Improving Care for Veterans.” The seminar will be from noon to 4 p.m. May 7, at Our Lady of the Lake Livingston. The program will assist end-of-life care providers and health and human service professionals with new interventions to better serve dying veterans and their families. Seating is limit.
