Strawberry Day slated for Saturday Strawberry Day slated for Saturday Advocate staff report March 26, 2013 Comments The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Strawberry Day in the Park will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park in downtown Ponchatoula. This event will be held in conjunction with the Ponchatoula Jaycees’ Charity Jambalaya Cook-off. The day begins with the unveiling of the addition of two names — past chairmen Richard Stilley and John S. Vaughan — to the Festival Memorial Remembrance. Entries for the annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Bake-off must be dropped off between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., organizers said. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m. Entry fees are $3 per entry for adults 18 and older. The categories include: Strawberry Cake, Strawberry Jelly/Jam, Strawberry Pie, Strawberry Muffin/Loaf/Cookie, Strawberry Miscellaneous (non-dessert) and Other Strawberry Dessert.
