Mar 6, 2013 09:24 Knitters group plans crafted donations Knitters group plans crafted donations Advocate staff report March 06, 2013 Comments Radical Purls, of Hammond and Ponchatoula, and the McComb Knutty Knitters held a joint meeting Feb. 9 in Ponchatoula. “It wasn’t exactly like the meeting of the courts for Mardi Gras, but we did have a great time,” group leader Leigh Beaumont said. The group made plans to complete charitable items from donated hand-made yarns, share pattern designs and projects and make major use of yarn swifts and automatic winders. Radical Purls from the Louisiana group include Amy Amond, Leigh Beaumont, Catherine Castleberry, Margaret Hawkins, Carol Lachney, Dawn Mapes, Carol Smith and Susan Useman. McComb participants were Beverly King, Betty Penick and Dori Toler. The Ponchatoula-Hammond group meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at Coffee Culture, 1625 U.S. 51, Ponchatoula.
