4-H’ers compete in Livingston Parish Food Festival

The Livingston Parish 4-H Food Festival was recently held at Lewis Vincent Elementary School in Denham Springs.

Four-H’ers from the parish competed in five divisions for the opportunity to compete at the Area Cookery Contest. The first-place winner in the Seafood, Poultry, Egg and Beef divisions will compete later on in the spring at the Area Cookery Contest in Hammond.

While the judging was being completed, 4-H junior leaders helped the United Healthcare representative with an educational program on the importance of eating healthy and exercising.
