Dec 14, 2012 11:31 Briefs for Nov. 22, 2012 Briefs for Nov. 22, 2012 Advocate story Dec. 14, 2012 Comments Chamber recital slated for SLU Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present its first Faculty Chamber Recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium. “Musical Treasures for Winds, Piano and Voice” is the first concert in a new faculty series, said Kenneth Boulton, interim head of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. “This is the first concert in our new Southeastern Faculty Chamber Series,” Boulton said, “and it is designed to increase collaborative opportunities among our performance faculty, as well as expose our students to unique and fresh repertoire that is outside the realm of what they are accustomed to experiencing.” The concert will feature SLU faculty Rachel Ciraldo, flute; Arisia Gilmore, horn; Jackie McIlwain, clarinet; Alissa Rowe, soprano; Scott Smith, oboe; Jerry Voorhees, bassoon; and Boulton, piano. Livingston Parish Tour of Homes set The 15th annual Christmas Tour of Homes, presented by the Family Resource Clinic, will be from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 the day of event. Tickets will allow participants to tour luxury homes in the Denham Springs and Watson areas. The program will teach both youth and adults about healthful eating, food safety and how to create healthful snacks.
