--VETERANS ASSOCIATION MEETING: 6 p.m., Walker Municipal Building, 10136 Florida Blvd. The Livingston Parish Veterans Association will meet to discuss ongoing plans for the second annual Livingston Parish Veterans Day Parade. The association will also discuss the possibility of a fly-over and other benefits gained by meeting with Col.Mike Nelson, who has funds to help veterans. FRIDAY

--IN STITCHES CLASS: 2 p.m., South Library Branch. The library will have a class on the basics of crocheting and knitting for patrons who are 10 years old and older. The class will include needles, yarn, books on the subject and a handout.

--CREATURES OF THE NIGHT: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Watson Library Branch, 36581 Outback Road. Teens can come dressed as their favorite creature of the night, like a werewolf, zombie or opossum, and play monster games, eat snacks and do other activities. For more information, call (225) 664-3693.

--BOOK SALE: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Denham Springs-Walker Library Branch. Friends of the Livingston Library System will hold a book sale. Hardcovers and books on CD are $1 each. Paperbacks, children's books, VHS tapes and books on cassette are 25 to 50 cents each.

--BENEFIT FOR JAMES CURTIS: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friendship Community Benefit Center, corner of Walker North Road and Springfield road. --DREAM CATCHER CRAFT: 2 p.m., Albany-Springfield Library Branch and Livingston Library Branch. Patrons will learn about the meaning of dreams and create dream catchers using vines, cord, feathers and beads. The craft at the Albany-Springfield Library Branch is open to seventh-to-12th graders. The craft at the Livingston Library Branch is open to children who are 8 to 11 years old.

--SONG SWAP: 6 p.m., Livingston Library Branch. Patrons who are 16 years old or older are invited to bring their instruments to share songs and stories at the library. The library will provide some lyrics and chord tabs on the projector. Registration is required.
