--NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY TEEN GALA: 6 p.m., Livingston Library Branch. To kick off the Teen Reading Program, the library will hold a gala that will feature teens' night-theme photography they submitted last month. There will be prizes for first place and runner-up. It is open to ages 13-18.
--FLY TYING FOR BEGINNERS: 6 p.m., South Library Branch. Robert DeSoto, an avid fisherman, will teach basic fly-tying techniques. The library will provide the materials, but registration is required by calling the library.

--COMMODITY SIGN UP: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs. St. Vincent de Paul will hold a commodity sign up. --GRADUATION BALL BALLET: 1 p.m., Denham Springs-Walker Library Branch. The Baton Rouge Youth Ballet will perform "Graduation Ball," a comic ballet about Viennese young ladies and military cadets at their college graduation ball. The ballet is for ages 3 to 11.

--LIGO SATURDAY: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory Science Education Center in Livingston. The topic will be "Science Buffet - An All You Can Explore Day." Visitors will tour the facility and talk to a LIGO scientist or science specialist. Visitors can also explore and interact with more than 40 LIGO science exhibits. --ON SAFARI WITH GOD: One Hope Ministries, off Walker South Road three miles south of the I-12 Walker exit. "On Safari With God" is a family event conducted by Scott and Marci Crosby, of Abbeville. The Crosbys will present a Christ-centered message to boys and girls using puppets, black-light stories, songs, skits, prizes and more. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Dr. Ronald Coe will discuss the techniques, tools and lessons learned as the Livingston Parish coroner. The program will cover various deaths and accidents occurring in the parish and may be disturbing for some people. The talk is open to ages 14-18.
