Holy Ghost Catholic School celebrated Earth Day on April 25. Members of the Holy Ghost School Green Team and teachers Rosy Cambre, Pat Schmit, Martha LeBlanc and Darleen Dufour, planned the “One Planet, One Dream, Go Green” Day.

At the morning assembly, eighth-grade student Zander Du Plooy and seventh-grade student Camille Bechac gave the introduction.

Sixth-grader William Hetzinger led an Earth Day prayer, and fifth-grader AnnaGrace Hoover led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members of the eighth-grade choir sang the National Anthem, and third-grade students Amelia Fritz, Emma Davis, and Gabe Thompson read their Earth Day letters.

Eighth-graders sang “Heal the World” by Michael Jackson and held up Earth Day slogans.

Students wore green during the event. Faculty and staff members participated in Give Green to Wear Green and Jeans”.

The money will pay to build Patriot Square Garden, and the Student Council is donating the first tree to be planted, school officials said.
