3 arrested on drug charges
CONVENT — Investigators arrested and booked three men Saturday accused of being “mid to high-level” drug dealers, according to a St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office news release.
The arrests resulted from a months-long joint investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said they arrested the three men — Tonta Jabbar Octave, 33, 6126 Waterford Lane, Sorrento; Kavis Octave, 30, 3202 Vacherie; and Quinton James Dumas, 35, 1365 Harco Drive, Baton Rouge — for allegedly trafficking “substantial amounts of illegal narcotics.”
The three warrants were served at approximately the same time in St. James, Ascension and East Baton Rouge parishes, the release says.
St. James Sheriff Willy Martin Jr. said in the release that more arrests are expected as a result of the investigation.
