- CONNECTION PEER SUPPORT GROUP: 6:30 p.m., North Oaks Diagnostic Center. This support group is for adults suffering from a mental illness of any diagnosis, as well as their family members. It offers a casual and relaxed approach to sharing the challenges and successes of coping with mental illness. Each group session is led by trained individuals who also are in the recovery process. - AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION FIRST AID CLASS: 5 p.m., North Oaks Diagnostic Center. A certified instructor will train individuals to become familiar with how to recognize and care for victims of illnesses and sudden emergencies. Upon proper demonstration of all skills outlined in the course, participants will receive a card signifying successful completion that is valid for two years. The cost is $30.
- AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HEARTSAVER AED CPR CLASS: 5 p.m., North Oaks Diagnostic Center. This class incorporates demonstrations of the American Heart Association’s lifesaving techniques for choking, rescue breathing and CPR for adults, children and infants. Participants are introduced to and participate in the use of an automated external defibrillator. Participants must successfully complete manikin check off and AED simulation in order to successfully complete this certification. The cost is $20 (for the layperson).

Family members learn how to support their loved ones and are able to receive information about NAMI education courses, as well as other valuable, local resources on mental illness through this support group.
