The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University will offer a seminar on mobile apps that can benefit businesses. The seminar is co-sponsored by the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. The instructor for the free seminar is Calvin Fabre, CEO of Envoc, a Louisiana-based company specializing in creating software and applications unique to individual businesses.

--American Heart Association Heartsaver AED CPR Class:(for the layperson): 5 p.m., North Oaks Diagnostic Center, 15790 Paul Vega, MD Drive, Hammond. This class incorporates demonstrations of the American Heart Association's lifesaving techniques for choking, rescue breathing and CPR for adults, children and infants. Participants are introduced to and participate in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. --The Southeastern Louisiana University Wind Symphony Performance: 7:30 p.m., Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts. "Galactic Empires." Led by Southeastern Director of Bands Glen Hemberger, the Wind Symphony is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed wind bands in the southern United States. Admission for the Wind Symphony Concert is $10 general seating, $5 for faculty, staff and seniors, and free for all students with ID. Doors to the Columbia Theatre will open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available in advance at the Columbia box office or at the door.
