OPTIONS honors longtime workers
Legislators, men and women with disabilities and more than 70 businesses were honored recently for their work with OPTIONS to help men and women with disabilities live and work in the community.
Also, men and women who work independently in the community with staff support from OPTIONS were honored in January for working five years or more in the same position. Together they have 280 years of work in the community. Those honored and the number of years they have been with their employer are: Glenn Drude, Jr., graduate, Special Olympics Louisiana, 24 years; Jerry Corcoran, Popeye’s, 23 years; Jeff Huff, graduate, city of Ponchatoula, 19 years; Jill St. Pierre, McDonald’s, 18 years; Shileah Wright, Tangipahoa Parish School System, 18 years; Evon Cohn, Winn Dixie, 17 years; Calvin Hughes, Hammond Walmart, 16 years; Heather Pierre, graduate, Solomon Episcopal Center, 14 years; Eathyl Treas, Popeye’s, 13 years; Kim Wright, Hammond Walmart, 12 years; Robert Chandler, Wolfe’s Lumber, 12 years; Joseph Ernest, First Guaranty Bank, 12 years; Cassandra Thompson, Church’s Chicken, 12 years; Jason Belsome and Joshua Harper, Albertson’s, 10 years; Ron Johnson, graduate, Hudson’s Dirt Cheap, 10 years; Thomas Gauthreaux, Graham Packaging (formerly Liquid Container), 9 years; Christy Hussey, Rouses Supermarket in Mandeville, 8 years; Christopher Lee, Tangipahoa Parish School System, 6 years; and Dynasty Pitts, Burger King, 6 years.
