School opening schedule

Classes begin this week in the following public school districts*:

MONDAY: St. Helena Parish.

TUESDAY: St. James Parish.

WEDNESDAY: Ascension, East Baton Rouge (including Recovery School District schools), and St. Mary parishes.

THURSDAY: Assumption, Livingston, Pointe Coupee and Tangipahoa parishes; City of Baker Schools; and Zachary Community Schools.

FRIDAY: Iberia, Iberville, Lafayette, St. Landry, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana parishes.

AUG. 13: Central Community Schools, St. Martin Parish.

AUG. 15: Acadia and Vermilion parishes.

AUG. 20: Evangeline Parish.

* Classes began in East Feliciana Parish on Friday.

WEDNESDAY: Ascension Catholic School, Catholic High School, Holy Ghost School, Most Blessed Sacrament School, Redemptorist Elementary School, Redemptorist High School, St. Aloysius School, St. Alphonsus School, St. Elizabeth School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. George School, St. Jean Vianney School, St. John Primary School, St. Louis King of France School, St. Michael the Archangel High School, St. Peter Chanel School, St. Theresa Middle School, St. Thomas More School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

THURSDAY: Catholic Elementary and Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, Holy Family School, Mater Dolorosa School, Our Lady of Mercy School, Sacred Heart of Jesus School, St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Joseph School and St. Jude School.

FRIDAY: St. John Elementary School and St. John High School.
