Bishop speaks to nearly 200 graduates
More than 190 students received degrees Wednesday at Our Lady of the Lake College’s commencement exercises held in the Baton Rouge River Center Arena.
The Most Reverend Robert W. Muench, bishop of Baton Rouge, was the keynote speaker. His address was titled
“ ‘Transitioning’ — What Life Is All About.”
Teresa Roberts, a graduate with a bachelor of science degree in health service administration, was recognized with the Board of Trustees’ Medal, which was awarded to the bachelor’s degree recipient with the highest grade-point average.
Michelle Wirtz, a graduate with a bachelor of science degree in nursing, received the President’s Medal for the second-highest grade-point average.
Angela Kennerly, a graduate with an associate of science degree in nursing, received the Dean’s Medal, which was awarded to the associate degree recipient with the highest grade-point average.
Our Lady of the Lake College, which is a Franciscan Catholic institution, is a four-year school with liberal arts, health sciences and nursing programs.
