First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending June 14 decreased to 2,691 from the previous week’s total of 3,292.
The state labor department figures released Friday show the initial claims for the comparable week a year earlier were 2,915.
The four-week moving average, which is a less volatile measure of claims, increased to 2,986 from the previous week’s total of 2,899.
Continued unemployment claims for the week ending June 14 increased to 21,576 compared to 20,745 the previous week. The four-week moving average for such claims increased to 20,211 from the previous week’s average of 19,447.
