First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending June 7 increased to 3,292 from the previous week’s total of 2,976.
The state labor department said the comparable week a year earlier, there were 3,755.
The four-week moving average, which is a less volatile measure of claims, increased to 2,899 from the previous week’s total of 2,628.
Continued unemployment claims for the week ending June 7 increased to 20,745 compared to 19,576 the previous week.
The four-week moving average for such claims increased to 19,447 from the previous week’s average of 18,985.
