Sherwood Forest Capital City Grill closed

The Capital City Grill on Sherwood Forest Boulevard has closed.

The restaurant’s downtown location, which is attached to the Shaw Center for the Arts, is still open. Rick Volland, who owns Capital City Grill, also owns two other restaurants downtown: Stroubes and Jolie Pearl, an oyster bar under construction on North Boulevard that is set to open in late August.

Last year, it was reported that Volland was looking at selling the Sherwood Forest Capital City Grill in order to pay off bank debt associated with Stroubes. Volland could not be reach for comment.

Capital City Grill had a location on Sherwood for about 10 years.
