REIT acquires Hammond surgical hospital Advocate business staff report March 29, 2014 Comments Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT Inc. in Tampa, Fla., has purchased the Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital in Hammond for about $25 million. Cypress Pointe is a 30-bed surgical and specialty hospital, with about 63,000 square feet of net rentable area. The facility includes six intensive care unit rooms, six digital operating rooms, two procedure rooms, open design MRI, a diagnostic lab and a pharmacy. The hospital is run by a 25-member physician ownership group, with specialties including cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery and neurology. Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT Inc., a real estate investment trust, focuses its acquisitions in the U.S. in the data center and health care sectors.
