Assurance Financial buys building Assurance Financial buys building BY TIMOTHY BOONE| firstname.lastname@example.org Feb. 11, 2014 Comments Assurance Financial Group, a Baton Rouge-based mortgage banker, has purchased an office building at 18212 East Petroleum Drive for $903,375. The company bought the building in the Highland Office Plaza in a deal that was filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office Friday. Brent Garrett, executive vice president with Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, said Assurance has been one of the tenants in the 5,475-square-foot building for a couple of years. Garrett, who represented Highland Office Plaza in the sale, said Assurance bought the building as an investment. The company will continue to occupy about 3,400 square feet in the building and will take over as the landlord for the other tenant, which is a local Aflac insurance office. “They’ll have room for expansion in the smaller suite if they need it,” Garrett said. Branon Pesnell, also with Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, represented Assurance in the purchase.
