Construction on the second phase of Siegen Place Shopping Center should begin by the end of the year.
Plans are to add 17,000 square feet to the center at 6555 Siegen Lane, near t he intersection of Industriplex Boulevard, said Charlie Colvin, of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, who is handling leasing for the property.
Colvin said no tenants have signed leases for Siegen Place, but there has been interest from businesses interested in being close to all of the offices nearby in Industriplex and along Airline Highway and Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
“Most of the activity is from franchise concepts,” he said. “We’re negotiating to add at least one additional restaurant.”
Siegen Place opened in January. The first phase of the center is a little more than 12,700 square feet and is home for Mattress Firm, New Orleans Original Daiquiris and Batteries Plus Bulbs. The first Louisiana location of Mooyah, a Texas hamburger chain, is set to open in Siegen Place on Nov. 11.
One 1,600 square foot suite is still available in Siegen Place, Colvin said.
“We feel like this is a great regional retail center,” he said.
