Charles D’Agostino, executive director of LSU Innovation Park, has been elected vice president of the Association of University Research Parks’ board of directors. The board is the governing body of the 200 park members internationally.

Rene Sanchez, a New Orleans native who earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Loyola University, has been named top editor and senior vice president of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, the nation’s 12th-largest daily newspaper. Sanchez was managing editor since 2008, overseeing metro, business and sports departments, as well as investigative and special projects, including the 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting on local day care deaths.

Sanchez was a reporter for the Washington Post for 17 years before joining the Star Tribune as a writer in 2004. He became Sunday editor and then deputy managing editor.
