Baton Rouge had the third-lowest business bankruptcy rate of any metro area in the United States during the second quarter of 2013, according to a report released Wednesday by Experian, the global information service and credit reporting agency.
The business bankruptcy rate for the quarter ending in June was 0.34 percent in Baton Rouge, Experian said. New York City, at 0.28 percent, and Nassau, N.Y., at 0.31 percent, were the only other cities to have lower business bankruptcy rates than Baton Rouge. On the other end of the spectrum, Sacramento, Calif., had the highest business bankruptcy rate at 2.41 percent.
Experian based the report on information from its own databases, said Roslyn Whitehurst, a company spokeswoman.
