New pipeline complete New pipeline complete Advocate staff report Sept. 09, 2013 Comments Joint venture partners Kinder Morgan Energy Partners L.P. and Valero Energy Corp. said Tuesday they have completed a $250 million, 141-mile pipeline connecting refineries in Norco to Plantation Pipe Line Co.’s petroleum transportation hub in Collins, Miss. From the hub, petroleum products will be moved through multiple pipeline systems, including the just-completed 16-inch Parkway Pipeline, to major markets in the eastern United States. The new pipeline system has an initial capacity of 110,000 barrels per day and can be expanded to more than 200,000 barrels per day. Kinder Morgan owns 51 percent of Plantation Pipe Line Co. and operates the system. Kinder Morgan Energy Partners is one of the largest publicly traded pipeline limited partnerships in America. The company owns an interest in or operates more than 54,000 miles of pipelines and 180 terminals.
