Advocate staff report July 11, 2013 Comments NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans-based Title Stream has acquired Stewart Title of Louisiana, which has eight offices in southeast Louisiana. Stewart Title of Louisiana was a partnership between New Orleans attorney James “Jim” Smith Jr. and Texas-based Stewart Title Guaranty Co. As part of its business model, Stewart Title Guaranty Co. is offering its local partners who have ownership interests to assume full ownership. Smith, who was president of 26-year-old Stewart Title of Louisiana, is the sole owner of Title Stream and is its president. Stewart Title Guaranty Co. will continue to be Title Stream’s underwriter. “Our goal is to provide our clientele with a seamless transition from Stewart Title of Louisiana to Title Stream,” Smith said. “For the real estate professionals and consumers accustomed to doing business with us, nothing has changed.” Title Stream coordinates all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, guaranteeing a clear title and smooth transition of ownership. Title Stream’s main office is at 700 Camp St. in New Orleans and it has offices in Metairie, Mandeville, Uptown, Westbank, Lakeview, Hammond and Baton Rouge.
