The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants has presented Joseph D. Richard Jr. with its Lifetime Membership Award and Brian J. Stagg with a Distinguished Public Service Award that is jointly presented annually with the American Institute of CPAs.
Richard is a partner in Hannis T. Bourgeois LLP, CPAs’ Baton Rouge office. His award recognizes an individual who is retired or near retirement and has distinguished himself as an outstanding professional and contributor to the CPA profession. Richard was honored for more than 20 years of continued service to the association’s financial institutions committee and annual convention committee.
Stagg is a director at Postlethwaite & Netterville APAC in Baton Rouge. His award honors public service, leadership, impact, involvement and innovation by a Louisiana CPA. Stagg will now be nominated for the AICPA’s National Public Service Award.
The American Heart Association presented a national Award of Meritorious Achievement to Coletta Barrett, vice president of mission at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.
The award recognizes accomplishments or projects that affect the association at a national level. Barrett was cited for her service as chairperson of the association’s corporate relations review committee from 2010 to 2013. She was the association’s chairman of the board in 2003-04.
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center has earned Chest Pain Accreditation, Cycle IV, the highest cycle awarded by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. Accreditation is based on an on-site evaluation and demonstrated excellence in quality patient care.
Justin M. Chopin, an attorney with Arguello Hope & Associates in New Orleans, has been named a Fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.
The foundation works to enhance the legal profession and promote equal justice under the law.
