Houma company finishes expansion Houma company finishes expansion Advocate staff report June 28, 2013 Comments HOUMA — Hunting Energy Services has completed a $19.6 million expansion of its Houma oilfield supply manufacturing facility. The project added 97,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space, a move that the Louisiana Economic Development department said kept 48 local jobs. Hunting is a Houston-based business unit of London-headquartered Hunting PLC. The company provides well construction, well completion and well intervention services, including wireline and coiled tubing accessories manufactured in Houma. The new Hunting complex, located on 57 acres near U.S. 90 is nearly six times the size of its former manufacturing buildings. The Terrebonne Parish site maintains the company’s presence near customers and suppliers as Hunting expands its offerings of oilfield equipment and supplies. Over the past year, Hunting has added 33 employees in Houma, bringing total employment up to 81. To secure the project, the state offered the company a $325,000 Modernization Tax Credit, which will be claimed over five years. Hunting is expected to utilize the state’s Industrial Tax Exemption Program.
