The new owner of the Richoux’s building downtown has signed a deal with Raising Cane’s to bring one of the local chicken finger chain’s restaurants to Third Street.
Raising Cane’s will locate on the roughly 3,000-square-foot first floor of the building, hopefully by early spring 2014, said Michael Crouch, who bought the building in April for $1.2 million.
Crouch said he is still in talks to bring in a restaurant and bar on the second floor with outdoor seating on the roof. There is also a third space on the first floor, but a decision hasn’t been made a decision about a tenant there yet.
The 11,000-square-foot building is best known for the neon Coca-Cola sign on the roof, and Crouch has said the sign will remain.
Crouch is the president and chief executive officer of TerraBase Inc., an environmental database management company.
