Livingston chamber plans business expo

The Livingston Parish Chamber will host a Business and Community Expo and a job fair 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Suma Center off the Satsuma exit of Interstate 12.

The free event is open to the public.

April Wehrs, chamber president, said the expo has about 100 spaces filled.

Employment opportunities, health screenings, health options and taste samples are part of the expo and job fair.

Baton Rouge General opens gastro center

Baton Rouge General and private physicians network Baton Rouge General Physicians have expanded the gastroenterology and digestive health program and opened a new Gastroenterology Center at 6615 Perkins Road.

The General invested $2.6 million in the 10,316-square-foot center. The facility was previously a private clinical practice and endoscopy center.

The Gastroenterology Center is led by Drs. Karen Diamond, Shaban Faruqui, Paul McNeely, Alan Sonsky
and pediatric gastroenterologist Dr. Elizabeth Alonso-Rubiano.

Baton Rouge General Physicians is made up of more than 80 physicians and 20 practices, owned and operated under General Health System.

Design studio opens in French Quarter

Design studio Lee Ali Interiors has opened in a renovated warehouse at 1025 Bienville St. in the French Quarter.

The studio houses Lee Ali’s design library of fine fabrics, paint selections, wall coverings, window treatments and finishes. In addition, the studio also features custom furniture and upholstery lines and a dozen resources for semi-custom draperies, drapery hardware and bed treatments.
