LWCC declares dividend

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. has declared a 2012 dividend of $48.7 million, the company’s largest dividend ever.

The dividend will be paid to more than 16,000 qualifying policyholders in March and April. Over the past 10 years, LWCC has returned more than $231.0 million to policyholders through dividends.

The dividend for 2011 was $23.5 million. The largest dividend paid by the company had been $45.5 million in 2007.

Individual dividend awards are based on a calculation that takes into account policyholders’ premium and longevity with LWCC over the last five years.

LWCC is the largest writer of workers’ comp insurance in Louisiana.
