Deadline for Isaac claims is April 22 Deadline for Isaac claims is April 22 Advocate story March 01, 2013 Comments Advocate staff report Most Louisiana property owners with flood insurance will have until April 22 to complete their Hurricane Isaac proof-of-loss claims, according to the National Flood insurance Program. The federal program usually requires claims to be reported within 60 days of the flood damage. But the deadline has been extended for a fourth time. The date of loss, and the deadline to file, varies for property owners, according to the federal agency. Although the hurricane made landfall in Louisiana on Aug. 28, heavy rainfall and flooding occurred before and after that date. Policyholders with questions about flood insurance or concerns about their claims may contact their local insurance agent, call FEMA program experts at 1 (866) 331-1679 or 1 (866) 330-7286, or visit www.floodsmart.gov.
