Business Honors for Feb. 24

Loretta Bodi, project manager for Gainey’s Concrete Products, received master precaster certification from the National Precast Concrete Association. Certification is based on completion of a production and quality curriculum, exams and dedication to an employer and the industry.

Baton Rouge General’s Breast Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in stereotactic breast biopsy by the American College of Radiology. The American College of Radiology’s Stereotactic Breast Biopsy Accreditation Program recognizes facilities that have met national best practice quality guidelines for performing stereotactic breast biopsy procedures.

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center was named Hospital of the Year for the fourth time by the Louisiana State Nurses Association and Louisiana Nurses Foundation in the large hospital category. The award recognizes quality service in the nursing and healthcare industry. Our Lady of the Lake was named Hospital of the Year in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Alice Battista, director of mission services at Our Lady of the Lake, was named of Nurse of the Year. Leisa Kelly, clinical nurse specialist, won Clinical Nurse Researcher of the Year. Karen Loden, a retired Our Lady of the Lake nurse, was recognized as Volunteer of the Year.

Lane Regional Medical Center was named “2013 Acute Care Hospital of the Year” at the Nightingale Awards. The award, in the category of centers with 61-160 beds, is the first for Lane Regional.

The Acute Care Hospital of the Year award is based on innovation through nursing leadership and management; organizational support of nursing practice; evidence of registered nurse decision making and participation in management decisions; recognition of registered nurse achievements; and support of nursing participation in professional organizations.
