He was general manager of the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North in Atlanta. Bonnie Pendergraft has been named manager of LSU’s College of Engineering’s Research Facilitation Office. Pendergraft will manage the review and approval of all sponsored programs, grants and contracts and other research-related agreements. She will be responsible for coordinating the college’s research endeavors as a part of its five-year strategic plan. She will interact with the college’s seven engineering departments/schools and eight research centers with approximately $19 million in annual research expenditures. Pendergraft previously worked as a grant/contract specialist and electronic research administrator for the LSU Office of Sponsored Programs. Jean M. Faria, an attorney with the Louisiana Public Defender Board; Luis Arturo Leitzelar, an attorney with Jones, Walker, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre; and Sanettria Pleasant, an attorney with the Louisiana Department of Justice, have been named Fellows of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. NEW ORLEANS Lauren Gulkus has been named senior administrator in New Orleans for Jensen Maritime Consultants, which is Crowley Maritime Corp.’s naval architecture and marine engineering firm. Seattle-based Jensen, which also has an office in Jacksonville, Fla., announced a third office in New Orleans this past summer at 1515 Poydras St., Suite 2030. Gulkus has worked as an operations coordinator at Toxic Litigation Group and as a customer service associate at Philadelphia Insurance Companies. LAFAYETTE William F. ‘Bud’ Barrow, president and chief executive officer of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, has been elected to the American Hospital Association board of trustees for a three-year term. He will serve as chairman of AHA’s Regional Policy Board 7, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The Regional Policy Board meets three times a year and provides input on public policy issues considered by the AHA Board of Trustees and assists in developing programs to meet the needs of the region.
