Boyd Gaming owns more La. properties Boyd Gaming owns more La. properties BY TED GRIGGS| Advocate business writer Nov. 28, 2012 Comments Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming Corp. has completed its acquisition of Peninsula Gaming LLC, which includes Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino in Opelousas and the Amelia Belle Casino in Amelia. The $1.4 billion deal, announced in May, gives Boyd Gaming 22 properties in Nevada, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. “This is a significant milestone for our company, and we are pleased to be able to expand our footprint into Iowa and Kansas, as well as add additional markets in Louisiana,” Boyd President and Chief Executive Officer Keith Smith said in a news release.
