Access Vans sold to Ky. company Access Vans sold to Ky. company Advocate business staff report Oct. 16, 2012 Comments Access Vans of Louisiana, with showrooms in New Orleans and Grosse Tete, has been acquired by Superior Van & Mobility, of Louisville, Ky., the company said Thursday. Access Vans has 13 employees. It was founded in 1997 by Marcus Smith and wife, Mardel Smith, who died in 2009. Superior Van & Mobility has been a family owned and operated business since 1976. It has seven locations in Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, with about 70 employees. Superior Van & Mobility, owned by Sam and Kathy Cook, represents lowered floor minivan conversion manufacturers such as BraunAbility and Vantage Mobility International. It also represents wheelchair and scooter lifts manufacturers such as Bruno. “We will continue to offer great service and mobility options for those needing a mobility product in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette areas,” said Sam Cook.
