Hunting tax holiday this weekend

Consumers will pay no sales tax on purchases of firearms, ammunition and hunting supplies during the Louisiana Second Amendment Weekend Sales Tax Holiday, which begins Friday and ends Sunday.

During the three days, eligible purchases are exempt from the 4 percent state sales tax and all local sales taxes, the state Department of Revenue said.

The exemption applies to shotguns, rifles, pistols, revolvers or other handguns; related ammunition; and accessories, apparel and off-road vehicles, such as all-terrain vehicles, designed for use while hunting.

I DID read the article, never said the Advocate titled it as such, but they DID fail to mention the true purpose of the 2nd amendment and how ludicrous it would be to tie this to it.

If you'd bothered to go read the linked article you'd quickly comprehend that The Advocate isn't the one that titled it the "Second Amendment Weekend" or linked it to hunting, but the Revenue Dept did. You'd also quickly see that there are a bunch of other items other than guns that will be tax-free so referring to it as something for hunters is really not that far fetched. But continue wearing your tinfoil hat.

The Advocate should teach it's readers the 2nd amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting. It's about protecting ourselves from tyranny, which is exactly where we've ended up today, despite the warnings of the founders. Don't know about you, but I not only was taxed to death to fund the government indoctrination camps, but I also managed to send my kids to private schools.

We can not afford to educate our children and young adults but we can afford to....Never mind, this is just depressing.
