Business Honors for Aug. 12,2012
Shelly D. Dick, an attorney with Forrester, Dick & Clark, and Kelsey K. Funes, an attorney with Phelps Dunbar in Baton Rouge, have been named Fellows of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.
The nonprofit foundation works to improve the justice system and equal justice under the law.
State Civil Service Director Shannon Templet has been presented the 2012 Rooney Leadership Award by the National Association of State Personnel Executives.
The award recognizes accomplishments by state government human resource management professionals, including her expansion of the state’s comprehensive public training program, the implementation of the performance evaluation system, improved layoff rules and the adoption of improved optional pay guidelines.
The Baton Rouge Area Chamber received an excellent award from the Southern Economic Development Council for the chamber’s 2011 Rock Star Reception held to release its 2010 Annual Report.
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System has been invited by the White House Business Council and the National Business Group on Health to participate in a Health Disparities Roundtable with Surgeon General Regina Benjamin. The National Business Group on Health named the system as a 2012 Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles.
