Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has named Sandra Kowalski as information technology manager over its enterprise resource planning team, Lydia Martin as Blue Cross Foundation initiatives manager and Aleria Reed as manager of quality assurance and test planning. Kowalski was billing systems manager over customer billing and HR/payroll systems at Eatel. Martin was human resources manager for the Safety Council of the Louisiana Capital Area. Reed was the software QA team lead at Amedisys.
Donna M. Saurage, a community volunteer, was elected chairman of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center board of directors. Other officers are Dr. Tom J. Meek Jr., of The Dermatology Clinic, vice chairman; Brett P. Furr, of Taylor Porter, secretary; and J. Gerard Jolly, of KPMG LLP, immediate past chairman/treasurer. Newly elected to three-year terms on the board are Alice Greer, community volunteer; John F. Smith, consultant; and David A. Winkler, of Faulk & Winkler. Dudley W. Coates, retired from Legg Mason Wood Walker; G. Lee Griffin, of the LSU Foundation; and Bill O’Quin, of Financial Services Online, were re-elected for additional three-year terms. Gail O’Quin, self-employed and chairman of the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Foundation, will serve as an ex-officio board member. D. Randolph Waeshe, of Resource Management Inc., was named director emeritus for his years of service on the board, most recently as treasurer.
Dr. William Dore Binder, a practitioner and board member at Woman’s Hospital, has been appointed a member of the AAAHC Institute board of trustees, a nonprofit subsidiary of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
