Engineering firm to open in New Orleans

Engineering services company Ford, Bacon & Davis LLC, which has offices in Baton Rouge, said it is opening a new office in downtown New Orleans at 201 St. Charles St.

The office is designed for 30 workers to provide the initial workforce for a large ongoing project in the south Louisiana region and will be expanded to accommodate increased project work, the company said.

Workshop focuses
on emerging markets

The Overseas Private Investment Corp. is holding a workshop Thursday in New Orleans for small businesses to learn how to gain access to emerging markets overseas with the support of the U.S. government’s development finance institution.

Breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 8:45 a.m. at the Sheraton New Orleans, 500 Canal St.

Special emphasis will be placed on opportunities in the renewable energy and clean technology sectors, an OPIC priority.
